Depression

The symptoms of depression can vary from person to person. If depression symptoms persist and/or they interfere with your daily life, then it may be worth talking to a therapist.

Depression symptoms include:

  • prolonged sadness
  • difficulty concentrating
  • irritability
  • feeling hopeless
  • difficulty sleeping
  • feeling worthless or guilty
  • difficulty concentrating
  • postpartum sadness lasting over two weeks

When I treat for depression, I start with a comprehensive assessment of the symptoms. From there, I can help you understand your behaviors, emotions and ideas that contribute to your depression. You'll learn problem solving and coping techniques that will help you regain a sense of control and renewed interest in life. In addition I will assess your need for medication and refer you to a psychiatrist if necessary.
